“REMEMBRANCE” Captures Emotion of Veterans Funerals
April 30, 2002

Robert A. Fletcher, a Korean war veteran and member of VFW Post 4662 in Warwick, NY, began painting the series of art comprising Remembrance in the late 1980s.

Remembrance, an exhibition of his 22 watercolor paintings depicting veterans’ funeral scenes from the Revolutionary War through the Persian Gulf, debuted in the House Cannon Office Building in Washington, D.C. during Veterans Week 1999.

A former advertising executive, he drew illustrations for many magazines as well as technical drawings for publications such as Aviation Week. Completion of this art collection is a life-long dream. VFW Magazine is proud to present his artistic tribute to America’s veterans.
